Rahul Dey

Vice-President & National Committee Representative

I am a PhD student in Antarctic Paleoclimatology working at National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Goa. My research interests are broadly in the areas of visual stratigraphy and glaciochemistry of Ice Cores. My research work focuses on analysing the optical and chemical properties of ice cores from coastal Dronning Maud Land and using this data to establish the paleoclimate of the region. Prior to this, I received a MSc in Applied Geology (2017) and BSc in Physics and Geology (2015) from University of Allahabad (India) where I studied the climate and sedimentation pattern in the Northwest Arabian Sea during the last two glacial cycles
