Anant Pandey

Anant has been involved in research on multiple taxa ranging from Antarctic Krill, tigers to baleen whales across diverse landscapes within India and abroad since the last 12 years. His doctoral work focused on understanding nesting ecology and population genetics of pelagic seabirds in east Antarctica. His research interests include polar ecology; marine mammal & seabird ecology and conservation; and Marine Protected Area management.


Anant served as one of the founding member of Indian Polar Research Network and as a Team Lead from 2013- 2019. He also represented IPRN at the first APECS World Summit at Sofia, Bulgaria.  He has been part of five Indian Scientific Expeditions to Antarctica and co-supervises the Antarctic Wildlife Monitoring component of the Indian Antarctic Program.
