I joined IPRN as an Executive Committee member in the year 2020 and served as vice-president in 2020-21 term and consecutively as President in the 2021-22 term. I have lead and guided on various projects here. Apart from my involvement at IPRN, I am also part of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) International since 2019. At APECS, I have served as a Project Group Lead (PGL) (2019-20) and also as a Council Chair for two continuous terms (2020-22). I am also elected as the National Committee Coordinator (NCC) for the upcoming term (2022 -23) here. I had experience of participating in the Himalayan expeditions which are the most memorable part in the course of my career till now. I have pursued various training programs on Hydro-Glacial Studies, Climate Change and Remote Sensing of polar regions (including Himalayas) from most of the eminent institutes nationally, as well as internationally, both; these helps me in keeping up with the trending technical skills. I have been entitlement as a ‘Certified Glaciology Expert’ from Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment (IIEE). I am excited and passionate to continue further at IPRN in this term with my fellow ECRs to lead the IPRN once again and stretch its horizon further this term as well.

Past experience in IPRN or APECS International or any other polar related organization:

At IPRN: I have been the Vice-president and President at the Indian Polar Research Network (IPRN) i.e., APECS-India during 2020-21 and 2021 -22 term respectively. Since the previous term, I have been involved with reviving the IPRN again after 2016 and contributed in various decision-making activities along with framing new guide documents, new logo, resuming the biannual magazine ‘Polar Bytes’ and new project groups among many other events & day-to-day tasks.

This is something that I am looking forward to continue further as we’ve grown quite stably since its revival. I am truly thrilled to be a part of the IPRN family in the leadership role (as an ExCom) once again.

I think that - Responsibility, Availability, Confidence and Ease of Communication are the major qualities of a motivating leader. I would like to use these to make the IPRN council members and associated external members trust on us with their time and involvement at IPRN.
